Moree – from a Kamilaroi term believed to mean either ‘long waterhole’ or ‘rising sun’
I am just back from a road trip to Moree. Got to love a road trip! And I had a very pleasant time. The time was short and the trip was long. The landscape changed wonderfully as I travelled north and for a mountains woman – it was … hot. I dropped the exhibition at Ben Roberts on the Thursday and repacked the car with paintings travelling to Moree the following Sunday and met Gig Moses on the Monday. I am pleased to now be one of the artists represented by the Moree Gallery. Thank you Gig. If considering a road trip, Moree is worth a visit!. The Kamilaroi mob are right – the people are friendly, the artesian water is great to relax in and the sky is immense in the landscape. theloadedbrush.com.au
