Ruth le Cheminant - Cultural Capital an article by Carrie Miller in @artcollectormagazine issue 75

Cultural Capital

As a partner of Gallery Blackheath I do regular days looking after the Gallery. The gallery is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday (and public holidays) in Blackheath, Blue Mountains and the seven partners are rostered on for a full day to cover the days we are open. I had the mistaken belief I’d have time to read art magazines and books but this isn’t always the case. The people visiting are delightful and time passes quickly. But last Sunday while on duty I did have a few moments and read the latest edition of Art Collector Magazine and found an interesting article by Carrie Miller – Cultural Capital.  It’s a thoughtful and interesting read. And all the more so as it’s by Carrie who I’d met quite a few years ago when she was a neighbour. She was great to discuss all things to do with the arts and politics then and delighted reading this article she maintains her forensic skills. Worth a read.
